Launch into a Midwifery leadership position that will deliver variety, growth, and working in a fast-paced unit incorporating pregnancy assessment, birthing and postnatal ward within our Maternity Unit. Relocation support will be negotiated if you are considering a move across the ocean to our island of Tasmania.The role:The Associate Midwifery Unit Manager (AMUM) is an experienced midwife who, within the defined area of practice:Works in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other senior staff, to ensure the efficient and effective provision of care based on best practice principles within a collaborative and multidisciplinary framework.Assists the NUM with the planning and management of staff and resources and provides operational leadership through the coordination of the day-to-day patient care activities, including patient flow.Details of AppointmentPermanent, full time, shift-worker (fully rotational) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant, however the AMUM position requires a minimum of 48 hours per fortnight.Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annumPayment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification typeExcellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered MidwifeCurrent Working with Children RegistrationApplicants should note the following criteria are desirable:Holds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualificationsThe Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
