Associate Lecturer/Lecturer in Aboriginal Health (Identified)Flinders University of South Australia – Katherine NT
Location: Katherine District Hospital | Jawoyn, Dagoman and Wardaman CountryThe successful candidate will be appointed at either the Level A or Level B position.

About the Role As an Associate Lecturer, you'll play a key role in shaping the learning experience within the College, contributing to the delivery of cutting-edge, innovative teaching practices and technologies.
Working under the guidance of senior academics, you'll be responsible for preparing and delivering engaging course content, while helping to foster a collaborative, inclusive learning environment.

About You To be successful in this role you will exhibit:
Evidence of contributing to teaching and the scholarship of teaching at the discipline level, including involvement in curriculum development and teaching methodologyExperience applying innovative approaches to pedagogy and/or curriculum designExcellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and studentsDemonstrated experience in communicating with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, key stakeholders, and their representatives to achieve positive outcomesFamiliarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues and an understanding of the social determinants of health as they impact Indigenous AustraliansIdentifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is recognised as such by an appropriate Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander body, preferably with experience of Katherine Big Rivers Region Indigenous cultures.About the Role As a Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of teaching and learning in this vital field.
You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of our curriculum, while driving innovation in teaching practices and technologies.
In this role, you'll independently design, deliver, and enhance course content, ensuring the highest standards of education while fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous perspectives and cultural practices.
Your work will contribute to the scholarship of teaching and help empower the next generation of students.
About You To be successful in this role you will exhibit:
Completion of a PhD OR community cultural recognition plus completion or near completion of a postgraduate degree or substantive experience in some branch of Indigenous studies/educationSuccessful and independent innovation in learning and teaching delivery or design, including use of e-learning technologies, in the areas of Indigenous health issues, cultural safety, primary health care and population health.Demonstrated contribution to academic quality assurance processes, such as topic or course reviewsExperience or capability to engage with students (and deliver teaching modules) via online learning platforms, related to Central Australian Indigenous knowledges and cultural practicesEstablished relationships with Indigenous communities, groups and organisations within Central Australia, including the ability to lead community consultationExperience with engagement within a relevant external professional domain and within a wider community context at local or national level which could include working parties, committees, professional associations and conferenced workshops.Life at Flinders We're transforming and investing in people and facilities to create contemporary, stimulating, and satisfying learning and work environments that reflect our core values of excellence, innovation, courage, and integrity.
