About the positions The Associate Lecturer positions within the School of MIHS are teaching intensive roles that involve working collaboratively to support the teaching, assessment and coordination of both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
You will play a key role in contributing to the teaching efforts of the School, taking responsibility for delivering tutorials, practicals, labs, workshops, and other teaching activities. You will also be involved in assessments, including marking and providing student consultations related to subjects taught within the fields of Medical, Indigenous and/or Health Sciences. The role also includes participation in governance and service activities.
Subject areas: human anatomy (cadaveric and non-cadaveric)human physiologyhistologyscientific literacy and research methodexercise scienceexercise physiologyexercise prescriptionbiomechanicsfood and nutrition sciencedieteticsIndigenous health.About you You will hold a bachelor's level qualification in Medical Science, Exercise Science and/or Physiology, Nutrition Science and/or Dietetics, Indigenous Health or related field and be enrolled in a postgraduate or higher research degree at the University of Wollongong in one of the listed fields; OR hold professional accreditation as an exercise scientist, clinical exercise physiologist, strength and conditioning coach or dietician with recent professional practice in the respective field with one of the following:
Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA)Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA)Dietitians Australia (DA)A comprehensive and demonstrated understanding of one or more of the subject areas, along with the ability to contribute to the delivery of high-quality academic programs in the School of MIHS is essential. You will be required to collaborate with academic staff and students across the University, maintaining positive and professional relationships. Previous teaching experience, particularly within the School of MIHS will be highly regarded.
