About you You will be a people-first person who brings a common-sense mindset to your work and adopts an approachable style in your professional interactions. You will be self-motivated and keen to learn from top-tier lawyers who are the best at what they do. In terms of experience, you will have 2-4 years' experience in Government procurement or projects, contract law, or commercial law in a boutique or large law firm, or Government department. Ideally, this will be gained in a Defence or related national security context (e.g., with exposure to the ASDEFCON suite of contracts). Relevant experience could include commercial and contracts law, probity, evaluations, approach-to-market development and tendering, negotiations, and procurement and contract management – although we are keen to hear from those with a diverse background in equivalent areas. Mandatory requirement – please read Given the nature of our work, an AGSVA-issued security clearance is essential. Applicants must hold an active NV1 (or higher) clearance.  Applicants that do not meet this requirement will not be considered. The role You will be directly involved in delivering nationally significant and high profile projects for the defence of Australia in the growing maritime, air, land, space, and joint domains. You will benefit from direct client access, and your day to day will see you advising on issues including:  Procurement options, policy, and planning, Tender and scope development, including integration and sustainment management, Contract drafting, including on issues such as intellectual property, pricing models, liability frameworks, performance management and KPIs, Collaborative contracting models involving industry and key stakeholders, Negotiation strategy setting and delivery, and Contract delivery and management.
