ABOUT THE ORGANISATION: Wollongong Flexible School is a Catholic School in the Edmund Rice tradition.
There are 22 Flexible Schools throughout Australia who offer a full-time and multiyear secondary education program for young people who have disengaged from mainstream schooling.
Enrolled young people may express a broad range of complex education and social needs and flexible schools respond with a variety of flexible and innovative teaching and learning practices including vocational planning and the development of social connectedness.
The purpose of a Flexible School is to provide young people with a varied and holistic set of learning experiences supporting them to identify and pursue an individual transition to adulthood, employment, further education and training and social connectedness.
ABOUT THE ROLE: This position exists to provide leadership support across the Wollongong Flexible School.
The role works in close cooperation with the Head of Campus, the Area Principal, and the Regional Support Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The key accountabilities are negotiated on a strengths-based framework from the four aspects, Identity, Educational, Relational and Administrative, of leadership and will be allocated by the Head of Campus and Area Principal.
ABOUT YOU: Tertiary qualifications in Teaching with eligibility for teacher registration with NSW Education Standards Authority or Tertiary qualifications in Social/Behavioural Sciences e.g., Social Work, Community Services or Psychology and current open driver's license and willingness to drive school buses.

Demonstrated leadership of the development and maintenance of programs for young people at risk.
Substantial knowledge of, and experience in, one or more of the aspects of leadership (as identified in the Key Accountabilities).
The person needs to be able to demonstrate an ability to assist staff in this area and to engage in reflective practice on how to best enhance learning for disenfranchised young people.
Demonstrated experience and ability to provide leadership in trauma transformative practice and wellbeing support that supports young people to build a learner identity, achieve positive social outcomes, and re-engage in education.
Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing a range of learning choices and assessments that meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of young people at risk.
Commitment to and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary community in reflection around working together under four principles of operation: Respect, Safe and Legal, Honesty and Participation.
The principles establish a "common ground" among staff, young people and families, where the means to resolve difference, negotiate learning, recognise rights, responsibilities and consequences are modelled and explored, both within the group and individually.
