Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer in Wollongong with 7 + years' experience to join our growing national and global geotechnics team. This exciting opportunity will see you step into longstanding partnerships with premier clients in built environment, water and mining industries. We are looking for a proven technical professional, who can deliver crucial projects with existing clients, whilst further developing your professional network and additional business opportunities across these already well-established relationships.

The SLR Geotechnics and Mine Waste Engineering team is unique in its exposure to a diverse range of projects. On any one day you maybe working on a landslide, pile foundation or walking the crest of tailings storage facility. Our NSW geotechnics hub is based in Wollongong on the NSW south coast, a place where our key team members have chosen to live and work for the exceptional lifestyle without comprising their professional aspirations. At 14 team members and growing, our local team are technically diverse and range from Graduates to Principals and Technical Directors. Key Responsibilities
Job tasks and responsibilities
This role offers significant long-term career rewards and opportunities for learning, expanding technical knowledge and career advancement. The position offers the opportunity to: 

• Work on a wide range of projects at the Associate level, across the Mining, Infrastructure, Water, Power & Energy and Built Environment Sectors.
• Undertake a range of technical tasks, including:
- Ground Characterisation
- Sophisticated laboratory analysis
- Numerical modelling
- Risk Assessment 
- Slope Stability Analysis 
- Ground Improvement and Remediation Design
- Foundation design
- Construction and Project Management 
• Have autonomy and recognition in your contribution to a diverse range of projects from inception to completion.
• Build on our already strong business relationship with existing clients and identify/ develop new opportunities within this network. 
• Work within a well-respected team and contribute to the culture of collaboration and excellence. Mentor and lead junior members of the team 
• Establish and elevate your reputation amongst a team of international professionals, to become a leader within a diverse business on an exciting growth curve.


Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have the following attributes: 

• 7+ years' hands on experience, preferably with tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering.
• Have previously undertaken Senior role within an Engineering Consultancy. 
• Demonstrated technical autonomy working across multiple sectors.
• Be competent in business, client and project development and can be self-sufficient when required.
• Be driven to pass on your knowledge by mentoring junior staff.
• A team player who will enjoy Contributing to our proud "One Team" culture at SLR.
