About the opportunity We are looking for a highly intelligent and motivated mid level legal counsel, with an excellent academic record and experience at a top tier Australian firm. You will work directly with the Australian General Counsel and be part of our exceptional Global Legal Team. You will have the opportunity to advise end-to-end on a wide variety of legal issues affecting our Australian business. You will be guiding an industry and technology leader, in one of the world's fastest moving regulatory environments. What you will be doing Directly supporting the Australian General Counsel to advise the Australian business on industry leading crypto products and technology. Advising and taking ownership on a variety of legal areas, from token analysis, to high-profile marketing, to engagement with regulators. Managing top tier external counsel and subject matter experts to navigate complex legal issues relating to emerging technology and financial products. Working closely with high performing, cross functional teams to achieve ambitious projects. This will range from working closely with an experienced Compliance Team in a highly regulated industry, to working with an international Product Team to advise on novel products and technologies. Contributing to the multi-jurisdictional advice provided by our Global Legal Team. About You You will need to have a current and unrestricted Australian practising certificate. Previous experience at a top tier Australian firm advising clients in highly regulated industries, or in-house in a highly regulated industry. Track record of high performance: academically; in legal practice; and/or in a role with a related skillset. High integrity, intelligence and work ethic. Friendly demeanour and being an unselfish team player who thrives in a collaborative environment. Nice to haves Experience in one or more of the following legal areas: financial services; disputes; technology; or a legal area you think will bring relevant experience to the role. Prior experience in a crypto exchange, fintech or other fast moving company. Interest in crypto and/or blockchain technology.
