About the team We are looking for an Associate Freshwater Scientist to help us deliver a strong pipeline of work on high profile and challenging projects that span natural resource management to major infrastructure projects.
We invest in building and sustaining trusted relationships with key clients like Melbourne Water, as well as contribute to a range of joint ventures on road and rail projects.
We are also currently helping to implement the intent of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan through the projects in NSW, Victoria and South Australia.
The role sits within the Water Resources Section which encompasses the Australia and New Zealand region.
We support flexible working arrangements, and the successful candidate can be based anywhere within this area.
Our section contains a range of specialist skills in hydrology, flood modelling, aquatic ecology, water quality, hydrogeology and waterway engineering.

As Associate Freshwater Scientist , you will be responsible for leading the technical input to projects, building relationships with internal and external clients, and coaching a range of less experienced professionals.

The Role: The purpose of this role is to undertake freshwater science and natural resource management projects and to collaboratively work with other disciplines.
You will be required to write proposals for, win and manage both complex and smaller projects within the area of your technical expertise.
Here's what you'll need You will be responsible for: Undertaking and leading a range of aquatic ecology and natural resource management projects, including both office-based and field-based activities Data collation and analysis Providing specialist freshwater science support to other technical disciplines within Jacobs, including for infrastructure projects Leading fee proposals, including developing a method and budget Liaison with clients, stakeholders and regulators Liaison with Jacobs teams across the region, and globally Presenting information at meetings in a concise and effective manner Authoring complex assessments / reports Report checking and review Managing projects so that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed quality Technical and speciality skills: Bachelor Degree in Science with specialist knowledge and skills in ecology, natural resource management and/or water quality Experience in compiling technical reports that detail the type, methodologies, results of field activities, interpretation of results and impact assessment Proven ability to confidently liaise, build relationships and secure new opportunities with existing and new clients Have sufficient knowledge of the legislation and policies that are relevant to our work Jacobs.
