Major Accountabilities/Principal Responsibilities:We are currently recruiting for an Associate to join our Financing & Advisory Group based in Sydney, Australia to support the origination and execution activities across a broad range of structured finance transactions in particular within the Mining, Metals and related industries sectors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build close relationships with the teams onshore and within the organization more broadly on a regional and global basis. This is an exciting opportunity within a fast-paced, results focused, global organization that values diversity.Primary responsibilities include: Preparing, customizing, optimizing and maintaining the financial model supporting advisory mandates, including creating and running financial scenarios and sensitivities. Interrogating the financial model for financing mandates including creating and running of sensitivities and checking integrity. Reviewing and supervising financial modelling tasks undertaken by junior staff, and completing more complex modelling tasks where required. Staying abreast of developments across sectors, in particular Mining & Metals finance. Providing day to day transaction support including structuring, pricing, preparing of credit applications, undertaking detailed financial analyses and due diligence analyses. Respecting all relevant compliance practices and other internal requirements in relation to the execution of advisory & lending transactions. Managing internal processes relating to the arranging and advisory business. Identifying potential marketing opportunities and preparing pitch material. Establishing a network of contacts at key clients and prospective clients. Supervision and development of junior team members while maintaining a high quality of overall team execution. Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge Required: University degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law) or a professional financial qualification. Post graduate qualifications considered favorably. Experience in Mining & Metals finance and sector knowledge, and/or another structured finance environment. 3-5 years' relevant experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel including strong financial modelling skills. Experience in generating pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive. Strong numerical skills with an advanced understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements and cashflows. Behavioral Competencies Required: Ability to contribute to the team's efforts to build and maintain trusted client relationships. Consistency and rigour in following up on clients' needs. Display a sense of ownership in the business and pride in the quality and accuracy of work. Discipline and team collaboration to develop business adapted to clients' and markets' needs. Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage competing deadlines. Experience of working with people with diverse, international backgrounds.
