The Role
HDR is currently seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer at Principal or Associate Director level to join our engineering team. Based in either Brisbane or Melbourne, this role will see you taking the technical lead on major projects, supporting our well-established structures group. Our team currently provides design services to some of the largest transportation projects across Queensland, including Coomera Connector Stage 1 Central Package and we are looking for an experienced practitioner to join our global network.
This is a hands-on engineering role driving the technical delivery on our projects and we'll count on you to:
Provide specialist advice and lead the technical delivery on design activities associated with transport structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, gantries and tunnels. Supervise and conduct structural analysis and remediation design of bridges and other structures. Manage the development of structural asset management deliverables including design reports, drawings, models, specifications etc. Support the expansion of HDR's other services providing technical design experience and support to the broader structures team. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor of Civil Engineering or equivalent. 15+ years' relevant experience. Consulting experience – highly advantageous. Project delivery experience demonstrating detailed knowledge of TMR technical requirements – essential. Excellent structural engineering skills with significant experience in the analysis, design and management of transport-related structures. CPEng and RPEQ accreditation (or eligibility to easily obtain). Highly developed skills in the use of appropriate structural and asset management software applications and design tools (e.g. SpaceGass, Strand 7, SAM, Excel etc). This role is well suited to a highly experienced structural engineer who enjoys technical delivery and is looking for an opportunity to work in major projects for an organisation that is 100% employee owned.
