About the Role
The Associate Director Network Resilience is a crucial leadership role that actively oversees a highly skilled operational team focused on achieving a smoother, more predictable journey for all users across the metropolitan road and public transport network.
Reporting to the Director Transport Improvement, this role brings together Area Managers who oversee and take accountability for network performance in sub-sections of the metropolitan road network, and the Operational Assurance team that coordinates and oversees service delivery objectives for continuous improvement across the public transport network (metropolitan and regional rail, tram, and bus).
Given the flexible and agile operational environment, the Associate Director Network Resilience requires a high-level ability to collaborate and negotiate with senior stakeholders across multiple operators, agencies, and government departments.
As a senior leader in the Transport industry, the Associate Director Network Resilience requires expertise in leadership and direction through change and innovation to achieve better network outcomes and support the day-to-day operations of the public transport and metropolitan road networks.
Position Outcomes
The Associate Director of Network Resilience provides dynamic leadership to specialized Area Managers and public transport experts within the Operational Assurance team.
This role requires exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and promote the importance of Network Resilience.
The ability to process varied information and make timely, informed decisions that consider the entire network is essential for achieving high-quality outcomes.
Key responsibilities also include developing and maintaining critical relationships across different transport modes to optimize network performance and delivering expert advice to both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Additionally, the Associate Director is tasked with driving innovation and continuous improvement in program and service delivery across the Department and at a whole-of-government level.
This initiative aims to enhance efficiencies, effectiveness, and quality in all aspects of network resilience.
Qualifications and Role Specific Requirements Mandatory Demonstrable experience in a live operational environment having to make decisions with imperfect knowledge. Demonstrated experience in managing high-profile stakeholders and customers. Desirable Demonstrated senior stakeholder management skills with the ability to be persuasive.
