About the Role Excellent opportunity to be involved in providing expert solution design, architectural guidance and technical analysis across data platforms within the digital product space, and to contribute to the strategic direction of the ABC's digital architecture and engineering best practices. Key Accountabilities Under broad direction, be responsible for expert solution design and architecture of digital services and platforms within the ABC, collaborating with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Lead Engineers and other senior stakeholders to ensure that technical solution design meets business and audience requirements and needs. Provide consultation and specialist advice to your direct manager and other ABC stakeholders on technology trends, developments, design issues and solutions. Focus on web and data services, shared platforms, products and processes to ensure that data solutions for digital product align with the wider ABC Information Technology direction, specifically Enterprise Architecture, IT Security and Cloud Shared Services. Lead the design of particularly complex solutions, in collaboration with Audience Facing Digital Product teams, for rolling out digital services and data platforms to cloud services, including content management and content delivery. Facilitate architectural decisions across product teams to ensure solutions are consistent, sustainable, flexible and readily adopted. Collaborate on technical decision making, planning and estimation, implementing and documenting digital products with content specialists, engineers, designers and others within and external to the immediate team. About you 3 years' minimum experience in solution design, tech BA or similar role Ability to collect and translate visual design and business logic requirements into technical solutions across backend, APIs, UIs, workflow and data integration Our cloud applications are mainly hosted in AWS so outstanding demonstrated knowledge of web technology, current and emerging digital technology trends and cloud-based AWS services Ability to design solutions that are reliable and scalable and can adopt changes and new requirements without complete re-architecting Fitting in with current architecture and expanding it to accommodate emerging requirements Experience in event-based data platforms serving a high traffic digital environment across multiple platforms (think web, mobile apps, connected TVs, smart speakers) Experience in data integration using dbt, Athena, GraphQL, Data Zone and data catalogs especially to systems which live outside of the AWS ecosystem (think: on-prem, broadcast and SaaS) We have a variety of applications, developed in a range of languages – Node.js, Go, Java, Python Desirable A passion for trying new ways to do architecture: Re-writing the rule book and developing new ways to cope with a rapidly changing environment Experience in data analysis, experimentation and process improvement Implementation and design of data pipelines.
