About The Role The role of Associate Analyst, based in Melbourne, reports to the Head of Equities and works collaboratively within a small team of four. The purpose of the role is to research ASX200 Equities, Hybrids and ETFs.
Responsibilities: Equities – (ASX200) Provide commentary and valuations on ASX 200 listed companies Compile sector and stock specific reports on a monthly basis Create and distribute daily bulletins on Local, Global and Equity related content Maintain Corporate Actions Journal Attend to general enquiries from Lonsec clients and staff. Listed Income (Hybrids): Monitor and update listed income (Hybrids) on a daily basis. Issue research on new debt/hybrid issues, as required. Exchange Traded Funds (ETF's) Analyse and conduct research on ETF products over a breadth of asset classes per an annual review cycle and in accordance with the published Lonsec research process Engage with ETF providers for periodic reviews Prepare research reports for new and existing ETF's. About you: Previous experience (1-2yrs+) working with a research house, stockbroker, fund manager or corporate, with an emphasis on financial analysis and industry knowledge specific to equities. Research skills (qualitative) - a strong ability to synthesize and distil financial information down to key concepts and convey this in written form efficiently, clearly and concisely. Strong attention to detail is essential. A strong and demonstrable understanding of investment markets and asset classes. Ability to work as part of a close-knit team as well as autonomously whilst taking responsibility for meeting personal objectives. Expertise in Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets) and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat. Undergraduate degree.
