Casual opportunity with the Financial Planning and Analytics business unit Providing strategic finance reporting solutions and collaborating within the faculties HEO 4 Step 1 $54.79 per hour plus Superannuation About the opportunity We are in a period of exciting development within our Finance division, striving to achieve a contemporary service uplift in line with the University's ambitious strategic plan. As a result, we are seeking a Finance Analyst with proven BI skills to support the seamless design and delivery of fit-for-purpose data visualisations, models, and systems for budgeting and reporting purposes. Your client-oriented approach is key as you will be building data models and platforms for a diversified client base spanning the wider finance teams and non-financial end users across the university.
In this role, you will be enabling the development and continuous improvement of enterprise-wider finance processes as you take the lead on UAT sessions and roll-out testing. Instilling your user-centric approach, you will be required to troubleshoot and devise effective resolutions for escalated client queries and technical issues.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Support the implementation of an enterprise-grade BI solution in line with the university's strategic direction.
Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data model specifications and visualisations.
Design and complete functional testing of reports and models with logged feedback.
Generate and support reports and data models in Power BI.
About you Experience with BI/data visualisation tools – preferably Power BI.
Experience working with finance GL/payroll data will be highly regarded/preferred.
Educational background in business information systems, business analytics or accounting.
Familiarity with data warehousing and dimensional data modelling.
Previous exposure to Oracle reporting and planning would be favourable.
The ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Outstanding presentation, communication and influencing skills.
Flexibility in their organisation and planning skills to balance competing agendas and demands in a fast-paced, time-pressured environment.
