The Assistant Year Coordinator works in partnership with the Year Coordinator and Pastoral Care Coordinator.
This Middle Leadership role, shares the responsibility of leading the pastoral care program, supporting the pastoral teachers in the day to day wellbeing of the students, working with parents and teachers to challenge students to achieve their personal best, engage in community initiatives and develop cohesiveness amongst the students.
The Assistant Year Coordinator also leads learning by modelling exemplar classroom practice, and working with students to establish clear learning goals to improve their academic growth.
This full-time, permanent role is scheduled to commence on Friday, 31 January 2025 .
The Assistant Year Coordinator is a 1-point promotional role, temporary for up to 3 years, however your teaching position will be full-time and permanent.

About You As an Assistant Year Coordinator (1 Point) , you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.
To excel in this role, you will be able to: lead staff and students in wellbeing initiatives to support the pastoral and learning needs of all students demonstrate experience in facilitating pastoral workshops that meet the emerging needs of young people demonstrate good communication skills to work with parents, staff and students to challenge students in meeting their personal best liaise with SCS and external organisations to support the pastoral needs of students in their care organise time to ensure teaching and learning is protected whilst supporting the emerging needs of the year group collaborate with the Year Coordinator, Pastoral Care Coordinator and Assistant Principal to support the day to day wellbeing concerns of students create and implement engaging, rigorous planned learning experiences catering to the diverse needs of students demonstrate the ability and qualifications to teach in their area of expertise.
The ability to teach Religious Education or an additional subject is advantageous utilise formative and summative assessments to drive student progress employ a data-informed approach to setting challenging learning objectives and providing constructive feedback support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students demonstrate excellent classroom management skills focused on student well-being integrate technology to enhance contemporary learning experiences.
You will have attained: a tertiary qualification in Education eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead.
