What can I expect to do in this role? Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the Trial Coordinator in maintaining court lists utilizing established scheduling practices. Liaising with Trial Coordinators, judiciary, counsel, other staff, and the public regarding the scheduling of matters. Identifying and bringing issues that may affect the schedule to the attention of the Trial Coordinator(s). Assisting in the preparation of statistical information. How do I qualify? Qualifications: You have organizational, coordination, and planning skills to assist with the scheduling of court sittings. You have the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. You have judgment and problem-solving skills. You have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You have analytical skills to assist with the compilation of statistical data. You have communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with tact and diplomacy with judges, staff, counsel, and the public. You have knowledge of the functions and rules of the Superior and/or Ontario Court of Justice, relevant legislation, and legal terminology. You are proficient with computer applications (word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, email, Internet, and management information systems).
