Everyone at AGL is an important part of building a better energy future and we want you to join in.About the roleThe Assistant Treasurer will play a crucial role in managing the cash flow and working capital of the business in addition to the negotiation and execution of debt financing and financial risk management. The Assistant Treasurer will oversee the daily activities of two Treasury Analysts, ensuring effective and efficient treasury operations.What you'll be doingOversees all cash management functions including cash position reporting and forecasting, short-term investing and borrowing, fraud & error prevention, bank account setup & maintenance.Oversees all bank guarantee facilities including issuance, returns and fee reconciliations.Identifies and manages financial market risks, including interest rate, foreign exchange, and commodity price risks.Develop and maintain a cashflow model to improve cashflow forecast accuracy.Understands and documents debt compliance requirements for all new facilities whilst ensuring compliance against existing debt covenants.Prepares quarterly/semi-annual debt compliance confirmations.Ensure compliance with project financing agreements including day-to-day administration of debt facilities.Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures in day-to-day operations.Coordinates internal & external audits to ensure compliance on treasury activities.Oversees hedge accounting practices and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.Supports the Group Treasurer in managing project financing activities, including debt structuring, financial modelling, and negotiations with lenders.Coordinate the due diligence process for project financing, liaising with internal teams and external advisors to ensure thorough assessment.Manage and nurture relationships with credit rating agencies, ensuring the accurate representation of the company's financial health and strategic goals.Lead the preparation and review of credit rating agency presentations, with a focus on financial metrics, hybrid debt instruments, and credit strengths.Conduct comprehensive credit rating analysis, including stress testing and scenario analysis, to evaluate the impact of strategic decisions on the company's credit profile.Monitor industry trends, rating agency criteria, and the evolving market for hybrid debt instruments, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.Support strategic initiatives like capital raising, M&A, and hybrid debt issuance by assessing credit impacts and ensuring alignment with rating agency expectations.Supports the Group Treasurer through the preparation of packs for board sub-committees and should be able to present in absence of the Group Treasurer.Assists FP&A with developing key inputs into the balance sheet, income and cashflow statement for annual budget and four-year plan.Manages and reviews all treasury reporting including the preparation of any commentary or analysis of variances.What you'll bring to the tableMinimum 8 years in a large corporate treasury functionBachelor's degrees in accounting, business administration or financeCA, CPA or CFA accreditation preferredMBA or advanced degree in finance preferredSubstantial experience in credit rating analysis and management, including the management of credit rating agency relationshipsExtensive experience with loan and debt capital markets, including issuing and refinancing debtSubstantial experience in hybrid debt instrumentsSubstantial experience in cash flow and working capital management including the management of banking relationshipsSubstantial experience in the management of derivatives and strong understanding of hedge accounting principlesKnowledge and experience with specialized Treasury Management Systems is required, FIS Quantum experience is considered advantageousStrong written and verbal presentation skills are required, with an ability to present to board sub-committees and translate complex financial data into actionable insightsWe'd love to see your application by 11:59pm, Sunday 6 October 2024.BenefitsFlexible working options including hybrid work.Discounts on energy, telcos and solar plans.Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program.Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives.Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions.Access to study assistance, AGL's share purchase plan and insurance deals.Inclusion at AGLAt AGL, we value diversity and welcome applicants from various backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, individuals with disabilities, culturally diverse individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
