Number of Positions Available:1Start your career with The Salvation Army today!We are looking for compassionate people who share our mission and values, if you have the passion and drive to commit yourself to a challenging and rewarding role; we invite you to review our current vacancies.ABOUT USThe Salvation Army is a Christian movement and one of Australia's largest and most-loved charities, helping thousands of Australians every year find hope in the midst of all kinds of personal hardship.The Salvation Army offers the opportunity to use your professional skills and expertise to make a real difference in the lives of people who need help most.Are you passionate about your community?About the roleWe are seeking a dedicated Assistant Thrift Shop Manager!You will assist the Thrift Shop Manager to lead and develop stores to minimise profits and strengthen links between thrift shops, you will have supervisory responsibilities for volunteers.Responsibilities includeMaximise sales through processing of donations to the store by receiving, sorting, pricing, hanging of saleable goods and disposal of non-saleable goodsImplement stock rotation and stock management processes to ensure optimal store stock levels are maintained to maximize sales and revenueDeliver excellence in customer service by responding to customer needsSupport in recruitment, maintenance and direction of an excellent volunteer/employees force that run the store efficientlyProvide training, guidance, direction and feedback to all volunteersThis is a permanent part-time position, 10 hours per week, based in Sale, VIC.What you will haveCertificate in Retail Operations / Diploma of Business (desirable)Certificate level qualification in Retail Management (desirable)Experience in team management (essential)Merchandising and store presentation skillsExperience managing stock            Retail management experience (highly desirable)Experience working and managing volunteers preferredBasic working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word and ExcelA current VIC Driver's LicencePhysical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly and for long periods of timePhysical ability to push, pull, lift, carry items up to 10 kilos in weight.Physical ability to climb laddersBenefits working at The Salvation ArmyEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling serviceAn inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate, and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contributionApplications will close as soon as a suitable candidate is secured.Do not delay in submitting your application today!
