About the roleWe are seeking a proactive Assistant Store Manager to join our team!
You will provide supervision of daily recycling, retail and administrative functions of the Family Store.Reporting to the Store Manager, this is a permanent part-time position, 15 hours per week, based in Bowen, QLD.
You will need willingness and capacity to work over Saturday trading hours.Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 4.
You will successfullyOpen and close the store and supervise balancing cash registers at the end of the dayEnsure effective marketing of goods for sale and ensure the store is merchandised with stock displayed in a tidy mannerEnsure family store workers are effectively managed in an efficient and courteous environment that fosters a productive experience for customers and staff alikeParticipate in team activities, attend staff meetings and demonstrate a supportive approach to assist othersAll store procedures continue to operate seamlessly without incident when in the role l of acting store managerYou will have5 years experience in retail and or customer service (desirable) 1 year experience in mentoring/training staff or ability to demonstrate capabilityMarketing experience in-store and online (highly desirable)People management skills with an emphasis on volunteers and communityProficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Office, and ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectivelyA positive attitude and be a team playerA self-motivated and a strong work ethicPhysical capability of manual and safe handling practisesA current and valid QLD Driver's LicenceFirst aid certificate or willingness to attain oneBenefits working at The Salvation ArmyAs a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as;Purpose driven career which has positive social and sustainable outcomesEmployee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service;Opportunity for career development;An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team membersPositively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution
