Assistant Relationship Manager
Company:

Westpac

Details of the offer

Great opportunity to build a career in Regional Commercial & Agribusiness Banking, due to an internal promotion within the team.
Support a diversified high-value portfolio within our high-performing Regional & Agribusiness Team. This is a Regional Southern QLD based role (flexible on location e.g. Goondiwindi, Roma, Chinchilla, Toowoomba, Bundaberg), with working flexibility.
How will I help? Rock-solid relationships are at the heart of every commercial banking decision we make. In this strategic role, you'll work closely with Senior Relationship Managers across a varied portfolio to ensure those connections are second to none. Westpac Regional and Agribusiness is committed to sharing the journey with the industry and ensuring they are strongly supported and positioned for growth now and into the future.
Our Assistant Relationship Managers play a crucial role in generating high-quality deals – helping with everything from credit submissions and deal structuring to financial analysis. Your financial insights will be put to good use, spotting any potential risks involved with existing or new clients and their financial requests. You will conduct cash flow, risk, and financial statement analysis, and regularly review portfolios to maintain the best quality credit while ensuring the relationships we have with our Agribusiness clients are kept in excellent shape.
What's in it for me? You'll play a significant part in the future of a business that has been around for over 200 years. Our purpose is to create better futures together. We'll support you in your career development, internal career prospects, and flexible working. You'll also keep learning to grow your career, backed by a fantastic team of people with a can-do, supportive structure. We offer generous paid and unpaid parental leave for your nominated primary and support carers, including leave to organise adoptions, surrogacy, and foster care arrangements. We continue to pay your super contributions while you take all the time you need to get your new family settled.
What do I need? We'd love to hear from aspirational accounting professionals looking to develop into our Senior Agribusiness Bankers of the future. You'll need to have strong financial acumen and ideally, exposure to financial analysis and credit assessment, along with a solid understanding of risk and compliance processes.
You'll be a natural communicator, able to engage and build genuine relationships with our customers, a team player, and a decisive thinker. You will work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for our customers. Your drive to succeed will help you tackle even the most challenging tasks with an open mind and energy. Importantly, you will have a real connection to Regional Australia and the people and industries that support future growth.
What's it like to work there? We are a collaborative team of passionate people with a shared ambition to make a difference for our customers, our communities, and each other. At Westpac, making a difference means creating impact, unlocking our own and each other's passions, and transformative success stories to create better futures together.
In addition to competitive remuneration and a great culture, joining the Westpac family gives you access to a wide range of employee benefits to help you manage your priorities - whether that means family life, work/life balance, ambition to grow, or all the little perks in between.
We'll empower you to shape your career path through personalised upskilling, mentoring, and training opportunities; you're in control of where you start and how you'll grow.
As an equal opportunity employer, we are proud to have created a culture and work environment that values diversity and flexibility – and champions inclusion.
