Working to protect the state's environment and heritage. About the role We are looking for an Assistant Project Officer to join our team.
Are you seeking an opportunity to further contribute towards conservation outcomes?
Come and work in the Hunter Central Coast Branch Conservation Unit where you will be working collaboratively with a dedicated and passionate team.
The role will support the delivery of pest animal and weed management projects and programs.
Specifically:
Assist in the collation of data for pest animal and weed programs to support monitoring, reporting and evaluation of pest species management. Provide field and technical assistance to ensure pest species data is captured and stored in corporate systems and create map products to report and evaluate on pest programs. Assist with coordinating and implementing pest species control training programs to improve knowledge awareness and capability in pest species management. Assist with planning and implementing pest management operations, survey and monitoring activities. Implement audits to ensure compliance on pest management procedures and activities. Willingness to obtain firearms, pesticide and aviation land management competencies. Willingness and ability to work in remote and difficult environments where a moderate level of fitness is required. You will provide project and operational support, assist in planning and delivering defined projects, undertake reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, update and collate documentation and records and provide a range of secretariat and administrative services.
You will prepare sourcing requests, high quality reports, submissions, briefing notes, letters and other correspondence as required.
Key knowledge and experience Experience in the provision of administrative and support services Experience in development and delivery of programs and projects related to the Statement of Works. Understanding of contemporary project management principles and practices.
