NPWS is delivering a three-year feral cat initiative which will deliver intensive, targeted feral cat control and monitoring at priority locations.
The cat monitoring component links with the Ecological Health Performance Scorecards program to improve the ecological health of NSW national parks by tracking key ecological indicators and using that data to refine management actions.
The program plays a key role in ensuring we meet our commitment to zero extinctions in NSW National Parks.
The Assistant Project Officer supports the undertaking of the day-to-day tasks relating to the development, coordination and delivery of cat population monitoring and other ecological projects on the NSW National Park estate.
About You To be successful in this role, you must have:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience.Current Driver's License.Willing and able to assist with ecological fieldwork which involves travel.
The role may be required to undertake field work, day and night, sometimes in inclement weather conditions and remote locations.
