Job DescriptionAbout the Role As the Assistant Production Manager, you will support the Processing Manager and collaborate with third-party processing facilities, Sales, Feedlots, Shipping, Finance, and the Processing team.
Your expertise in planning, problem-solving, and attention to detail will ensure livestock is processed efficiently and customer orders are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee livestock processing to ensure compliance with QA, animal welfare, and regulatory standards.Build strong relationships with third-party processors and internal teams to optimise operations.Schedule and coordinate production to meet customer orders and maximise profitability.Monitor inventory, cut reconciliations, and yield performance to ensure accuracy and efficiency.Support the Processing Manager with team leadership, audits, and project delivery.Drive continuous improvement in processing operations through data analysis and reporting.Ensure adherence to quality control, food safety, and legislative requirements.Proactively identify and address risks or breaches in standards.Desired Skills and ExperienceRequired Knowledge and Skills: Degree in Business, Agriculture, or equivalent (preferred).5+ years of production floor experience, with a solid understanding of QA, WHS, and animal welfare.Proven ability to prepare and interpret management reports.Strong understanding of agriculture and processing industries.Exceptional planning, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Power BI and JDE is advantageous.High attention to detail in reporting and compliance.Experience with budgets, P&L, and financial performance tools.Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentApply Now to join the AACo Team!
