Position Information Harrington Park PS is a large primary school located in the Camden Local Government Area.
The current enrolment of 685 students includes approximately 6% Aboriginal students and 19% students from English as an Additional Language or Dialect.
Established in 2002, the school has well-equipped modern facilities and has undergone major building works over the last four years, providing 13 new classroom spaces, a new library, hall, and admin block.
The school also has a special purpose unit that includes two MC classes and one AUIO.
The executive staff consists of a principal, two deputy principals, and six assistant principals.
The staff ranges in experience, combining very experienced teachers with a growing number of early career teachers.
A strong and positive relationship exists between the school and the community.

Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria, the following are required: Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience and expertise in leading the collaborative delivery of quality, personalised teaching and learning programs to support students with autism, intellectual disability, and complex communication needs that can impact behaviour and learning engagement.
Capacity to lead a support unit, effectively managing the dual role of an Assistant Principal and exemplary classroom teacher, with the proven ability to strengthen collaborative practice within a support unit team, including parents, carers, and external stakeholders, to enhance student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
Demonstrated capacity to work with the school leadership team to foster a school-wide culture and practice of inclusion and equity and drive continuous improvement as part of a dynamic leadership team.
General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice.
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents.
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
