Position Information Bexley North Public School is located in the inner South-West area of Sydney, NSW and has a current enrolment of approximately 380 students in K-6.
Our diverse community values continuous improvement in both student achievement and wellbeing and we consistently aim for growth at a student, teacher and leadership level.
The school community comes from diverse backgrounds, with approximately 40 languages spoken by our families, and just over 60% of students coming from a language background other than English.
The predominant community languages are Greek, Arabic and Vietnamese.
At Bexley North Public School, 2% of our students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The school will establish a new Support Unit in 2025; catering for students with autism and/or an intellectual disability.
The establishment of support classes strengthens our school's reputation as an inclusive learning environment and provides the school with a wonderful opportunity to support families who have a child/ren with additional learning and support needs.

Selection Criteria In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach special/inclusive education and/or experience teaching students with autism and/or intellectual disabilities with a demonstrated understanding of evidence-based practices.
Proven ability to lead strengths-based planning for high-quality, individualised curriculum delivery, transition and behaviour support through consultation and collaboration including student voice.
Proven ability to lead evidence-based and evaluative practices to implement high-quality, differentiated curriculum including the development and implementation of student plans that impact positively on student engagement and build a culture of inclusion and whole school improvement.
General Selection Criteria Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
