Position:  Assistant Principal - Religious Education Secondary Salary Range: $145,401 - $152,543 per annum pending experience Commencing Date: January 2025 Tenure:  Full Time, Fixed Term Contract Closing Date: Monday, 25 November 2024  Burdekin Catholic High School, Ayr  is a secondary co-educational school for students in Years 7 to 12.
The school is a member of the Marist Brothers' network and has strong links with St Francis School, Ayr and St Colman's School, Home Hill enabling a total experience of Catholic education for the student.
The school provides quality education with a broad curriculum base within a caring Christian environment.

About the role Burdekin Catholic High School, Ayr   is seeking applications from appropriate candidates for the position of  Assistant Principal - Religious Education .
This position is a full time, 5 Year Fixed Term appointment.
The APRE plays a key role in assisting the Principal in evangelising the Mission of the Church through coordinating and managing the Religious Education Curriculum and nurturing the Religious Life of the School.
They are charged with prioritising enhancing their school's Catholic identity and culture through being the lead teacher, specialist and moderator of Religious Education, and supporting and developing the professional formation of staff.
The purpose of the APRE role is to exercise senior leadership and assist the Principal with the management of the school in accordance with Catholic tradition in consultation with other personnel as appropriate and with due reference to Catholic Education structures, policies, processes and practices.
The APRE is responsible for the supervision of those areas as delegated by the Principal and as designated in his/her duty statement which should be reviewed annually.

Mandatory Criteria Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner  Is committed to the Catholic faith, an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community and is free from any impediment to full communion with the church  Appropriate Tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers A minimum of 8 semester units of post graduate study in Religious Education, Scripture, Theology, Catholic Ethos and/or currently undertaking, with a commitment to completion Full accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school Is committed to the Catholic faith, an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community and is free from any impediment to full communion with the church Current Driver's Licence Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville Desirable Criteria Masters or other postgraduate qualification in Theology, Religious Education or Educational Leadership Recent leadership experience in a Catholic School with the ability to lead the drive for educational excellence Can show evidence of educational, pastoral, theological and managerial aspects of school leadership.
