Religious Education is taught along with all the key learning areas prescribed by the Australian Curriculum.
The Position: The Assistant Principal Religious Education (APRE) or Religious Education Coordinator (REC) shares with the Principal the responsibility for spiritual and theological leadership and the development of faith formation while ensuring the Catholic perspective is integrated across the school.
The APRE / REC is a member of the school's executive leadership team, collaborating in the strong leadership provided by the Principal and the school's leadership team.
This leadership discerns, strengthens, and actively promotes the school's Catholic identity and mission.
The APRE / REC engages with mission in their religious leadership and is animated by the Catholic faith in partnership with families, creating a sustainable educational environment which resonates culturally and deeply within the community.
This executive position is to be held by a practicing Catholic who is committed to the Catholic faith.
Key Responsibilities: Be a Catholic who is an active member of a Catholic Sunday Eucharistic community.A person with integrity who has a personal relationship with and commitment to Christ and a just engagement with the world.Capacity to promote and lead the identity and mission of the school as a Catholic school in the context of a pluralised and secularised society.Demonstrated capacity to lead others in faith formation experiences and social justice initiatives.A skilled educator with demonstrated capacity to lead a team of educators in the design, implementation, and assessment practices in the Religious Education curriculum.Demonstrates contemporary pedagogical practice in Religious Education relevant to the cultural context of the school community.Effective and highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.Hold a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education and completion or working towards a Masters Degree in Religious Education, Theological Studies, and/or Catholic educational leadership (or equivalent).What we Offer: Relocation Assistance up to $4,000.00School issued LaptopFunded Professional DevelopmentEmployee Assistance ProgramSalary is commensurate with qualifications.
