Current students, past students, future students and their parents all integrate into the Columba family which incorporates those parts of our history which once were Mount Carmel College, St Mary's College, and St Columba's Primary School ofCharters Towers.About the roleColumba Catholic College, Charters Towers is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Principal - Religious Education - Primary (APRE). This position is a Full Time, 5 Year Fixed Term appointment.The APRE plays a key role in assisting the Principal in evangelising the Mission of the Church through coordinating and managing the Religious Education Curriculum and nurturing the Religious Life of the School. They are charged withprioritising enhancing their school's Catholic identity and culture through being the lead teacher, specialist and moderatorof Religious Education, and supporting and developing the professional formation of staff.The purpose of the APREroleis to exerciseseniorleadership and assistthe Principalwith the management of theschool in accordance with Catholic tradition in consultation with other personnel as appropriate and with due reference to Catholic Education structures, policies, processes and practices.The APRE is responsible for the supervision of those areas as delegated by the Principal and as designated in his/her duty statement which should be reviewed annually.Key Leadership qualities and capabilitiesPromotes the Catholic vision in the school's goals, policies, programs and structuresBaptised Catholic who demonstrates a commitment to the Catholic faith both at school and in parishDisplays confidence, curiosity, enthusiasm and optimismDisplays emotional intelligence in working with individuals and groupsBuilds an inclusive, trusting community and cultivates productive working relationshipsIs an effective coach, able to respond clearly and provide and receive constructive feedback.Mandatory CriteriaAbility to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe mannerIs committed to the Catholic faith, an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community and is free from any impediment to full communion with the churchAppropriate Tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of TeachersFull accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic schoolA minimum of 8 semester units of postgraduate study in Religious Education, Scripture, Theology, Catholic Ethos and/or currently undertaking, with a commitment to completionCurrent Driver's LicenceAbility to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of TownsvilleMasters or other postgraduate qualification in Theology, Religious Education or Educational Leadership from an Australian Catholic universityRecent leadership experience in a Catholic School with the ability to lead the drive for educational excellenceCan show evidence of educational, pastoral, theological and managerial aspects of school leadership.What we offerCompetitive salary rangeRelocation AssistanceAnnual Leave at 17.5% leave loadingSalary packaging optionsModern facilities, equipment and resourcesSuperannuation up to 12.75% employer contribution (in a co-contribution arrangement)Access to long service leave after 7 years of continuous serviceUp to 14 Weeks' paid parental leaveDeferred Salary SchemeCorporate health insuranceInduction, professional development and learning opportunitiesWellbeing programs and initiatives.Our OrganisationTownsville Catholic Education provides a supportive, flexible working environment where care for the individual is an important part of our ethos.
