Cooerwull Public School is a split site located in the township of Lithgow.
Current enrolments are 291.
There are 73 ATSI (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) and 18 EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) students.
The school has 2 Multi-Categorical and 1 Autism Class.
A significant number of students come from a low socio-economic background.
Position Information In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary is required.
Demonstrated experience in collaboratively leading and implementing evidence-based teaching practices underpinned by data analysis to increase teacher capacity, resulting in improved student outcomes.Proven leadership capacity in managing effective behaviour strategies through wellbeing initiatives, attendance and learning support processes assisting students to connect, succeed, thrive and learn.Proven ability to manage the dual role of classroom teacher and Assistant Principal demonstrating a diverse range of skills, resulting in enhanced engagement and a positive, inclusive school culture supporting positive student outcomes.Demonstrated capacity to build and sustain strong, interpersonal relationships with staff, students, families and the community with evidence of successfully leading teams to work collaboratively on whole school initiatives to support the implementation of the school's strategic directions. General Selection CriteriaSuccessful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
