This role sits as part of an executive leadership team and will work closely with school improvement leaders.ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities of this position will be:Lead the strategic planning of our whole school Specialist Education setting with a daily focus of 7-12.Lead the daily planning, coordination and student participation in learning across 7-12.Align whole school resources to the support and learning of students across 7-12 while maintaining oversight of the enrolment and support from F-12.Build sustained partnerships and linkages to career and workplace pathways for our students.Provide coaching and support for all staff across the Secondary campus to build high quality practice.Use data practices to monitor student growth and IEP achievement.Align existing practice to DE policy and procedures.Be the face of Secondary Education across the whole school building a profile of excellence across the community.Who May ApplyAppropriately qualified individuals currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.Conditions of EmploymentAll staff employed by the Department and schools have access to a broad range of employment conditions and working arrangements.Appointment of successful applicants will be made subject to a satisfactory pre-employment conditions check.A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment and induction and support programs provided.VIT LANTITETo be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.Location ProfileArmstrong Creek School opened in January 2018 for students in Years Prep to 6. In 2019, the Secondary Special School component opened its doors and is now educating students from Years 7 to 12.Our school combines both Primary, Prep to Year 6 and Special Education provision from Prep to Year 12 under a single governance model.
