Position: Assistant Principal – Short-Term (12 Months)
St Gerard's Catholic Primary School is a culturally diverse, co-educational primary school from Kindergarten to Year Six, serving families in the Mercy tradition. The school is seeking to appoint a short-term Assistant Principal to the leadership team for 2025. This position is for 12 months with a possibility of extension and an excellent opportunity for further growth in leadership. The successful applicant will be supported, mentored and given additional opportunities for professional development in the areas of leadership, management and faith. Domains of responsibility and areas of teaching will be determined by the successful applicant's strengths and relevant experience.
Selection Criteria Catholic Identity: Is a committed Catholic who embodies the contemporary models of Gospel leadership and is able to uphold Religious Education as the first learning area. Education: An outstanding leader of learning who will promote St Gerard's Catholic Primary School as a school of excellence. Community: An inclusive leader who can support students with diverse learning, social and cultural needs through the promotion of safety and wellbeing. Stewardship: A leader who contributes to an accessible, affordable and sustainable education system and can lead professional learning communities to focus on school priorities. Qualifications Required An active member of the Catholic Church. The relevant 4-year tertiary qualification. Accreditation for Leadership (or working towards). A minimum of seven years relevant teaching experience. Applicants are to submit a two-page covering letter addressing the selection criteria together with their CV, which is to include the names and contact details of a minimum of 2 referees, including the current employer and a Parish Priest.
