Position:  Assistant Principal - Administration (Secondary) Location:  Southern Cross Catholic College, Annandale Salary Range: $145,401 - $152,543 per annum pending experience Classification:  Full Time, 5 Year Fixed Term Contract  Commencing Date:  January 2025 Closing Date:  Monday, 21 October 2023 Southern Cross Catholic College, Annandale  is a co-educational college that offers classes from Prep to Year 12.

About the role The purpose of the Assistant Principal Administration - Secondary is to exercise leadership and assist with management of the school in accordance with Catholic Education policy and in consultation with other personnel as appropriate and with due reference to Catholic Education structures, processes and practices.
The position of Assistant Principal Administration - Secondary is a significant Senior Leadership position in the College's organisational structure and a member of the College Leadership Team.
The Assistant Principal Administration - Secondary provides general leadership in support of the Principal in the achievement of the acknowledged mission and goals of the College community.
The Assistant Principal Administration – Secondary will have teaching responsibilities.
Key Accountabilities To provide, under the direction of the Principal and in a manner that is in harmony with the philosophy of the College, efficient and effective leadership.
Leadership and Management Collaborate with the Secondary and College Leadership Teams to implement operational procedures ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and optimal use of facilities of our P-12 college.

Set clear expectations by communicating the College's goals, priorities and expectations to all staff members.
Make well-informed, timely decisions that align with the College's priorities, involving staff when appropriate to encourage collective ownership.
Lead by example, demonstrating the values, ethics and behaviours expected from staff.
Be a role model in terms of work ethic, integrity and professionalism.
Communicate concisely and considerately, ensuring effective information flow between staff and leadership, keeping all informed about organisational changes, goals and strategies.
Model effective leadership, which includes commitment to ongoing professional development and personal health and wellbeing to manage the complexity of the role.
Utilise data in decision making to improve school operations, ensuring efficient resource allocation and enhanced student outcomes.
Contribute to developing, implementing and reviewing school policies to ensure alignment with the College's vision and regulatory requirements.
Foster collaboration with other educational institutions and external organisations to enhance learning opportunities and broaden the College's network.
Operational Management Provide strategic leadership in event management and timetabling.
Develop and maintain comprehensive school timetables using advanced scheduling software.
Oversee coordination of duty rosters, meeting schedules and exam timetables.
Manage integrated calendar systems for school-wide event planning, including assessment schedules.
Supervise student timetables, resource allocation and subject selection procedures.
Oversee logistics and coordinate with key staff members for diverse school functions.
Implement efficient systems for excursion approvals and scheduling.
Community and Staff Development Develop and maintain positive partnerships with students, families, caregivers, parish and all those associated with the broader community.
Establish and maintain partnerships with other schools, universities and relevant organisations to create opportunities for staff and students.
Support, develop and implement comprehensive strategies to enhance teacher capacity.
Support Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) applications.
Facilitate targeted professional learning opportunities aligned with the College's goals and priorities.
Additionally, the Assistant Principal Administration – Secondary provides specific leadership in those areas delegated by the Principal.
To join this vibrant school community, you'll need Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and work with staff cohorts to establish and maintain a collaborative learning culture Demonstrated capacity and commitment to enhance curriculum, college development, leadership and Principal support Well-developed skills in the planning of college administration and organisation To have an ability to collaborate and work positively as part of a professional learning community Mandatory Criteria/Professional Registration/Other Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner Appropriate Tertiary qualification with registration or eligibility for registration with Queensland College of Teachers A minimum of 8 semester units of post graduate study in Religious Education, Scripture, Theology, Catholic Ethos and/or currently undertaking, with a commitment to completion Full accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school Is committed to the Catholic faith, an active member of a Catholic Eucharistic community and is free from any impediment to full acceptance by the church and the school community Current Driver's Licence Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
Desirable Criteria Masters or other post graduate qualification in Theology, Religious Education or Educational Leadership Can show evidence of educational, pastoral, theological and managerial aspects of school leadership.
