The Assistant Manager will ensure the team delivers safe production of quality product in accordance with the JBS standards, as well as a safe workplace for all, with an engaged team living the JBS culture and values.Your key responsibilities will include:Leading the site production leaders to ensure a safe workplaceContinuing to build the JBS culture and ensure the JBS values underpin all business decisionsMotivating staff through feedback, training and the creation of an environment which promotes job satisfactionSupervising operational activities and control costs to maximize efficiency and productivityEnsuring all food safety and customer requirements are metParticipating in planning future development strategies to achieve company goals and objectives including preparation of capital expenditure requestsEnsuring operational activities comply with statutory obligationsEnsuring the plant is in a state of readiness for each day's operationPartnering with the HR team to build strategies on employee engagementEnsuring company assets are maintained in an acceptable mannerBeing aware of and maintaining good industrial relations as per the relevant legislation, modern award and local Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA)Actively participating in the resolution of conflicts and disputes to create good working relationships amongst all personnelProviding regular feedback on operational performance to management and direct reportsLiaising with production controller on a regular basis regarding production mattersAssume the responsibilities of the Plant Manager in the absence of the Plant ManagerParticipating in the yearly HR cycle and employee feedback processesOther duties as directed from the senior leadership teamAbout YouRelevant industry experience (ideally 5+ years) in a senior supervisory position gained from working at the JBS or similar organisationTertiary Qualifications in business, engineering or related discipline advantageous though not requiredDemonstrated proficiency in communications, delegations and supervisory skills with strong interpersonal skillsMust be prepared to undertake further training to upskill as requiredDemonstrated computer literacy in Excel, Word and OutlookAbility to respond calmly in difficult situations maintaining a strong customer service focusExceptional ability to prioritise and multi-taskExcellent attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environmentAbility to take others' perspectives into considerationEnergetic, passionate and enthusiastic with a demonstrated focus on system improvementInterested?
