Reporting to the National Operations Manager, the Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for assisting the delivery of all projects undertaken by the TechSafe Division in Victoria. This includes the oversight of all operational aspects of the business, including client management, financial management, operational management, and resource management.Nature of position: Permanent, Full TimeLocation: Clayton South, VICReporting Line: National Operations ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesEnsure contracts operate and are managed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner to achieve required financial objectives.Support the profitability of the division by deploying a budgeting, forecasting, and analysis framework, which reports against key financial metrics.Provision of accurate, consistent, and qualitative financial results.Operational / RelationshipEnsure all contracts operate within set budgets and all tasks are carried out maximizing operational effectiveness.Develop strong relationships with TechSafe's customers to ensure business retention and development opportunities are identified and actioned.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the business.Provide leadership, management, and motivation to encourage the division's employees to achieve excellence and work to their full potential.Cultivate a strong team environment providing regular leadership, support, and guidance to direct and indirect reports.Safety & ComplianceBuild/maintain a culture that puts safety above everything else, with a strong focus on analysis, continuous improvement, and developing new safety initiatives to drive future safety and quality improvements.Ensure all field operations are conducted safely, meeting or exceeding applicable company, client, and industry requirements/standards.Ensure the prompt and accurate reporting of HSE Incidents to the National Operations Manager.Provide regular coaching, support, and feedback to management staff on Safety, Quality, and Compliance to ensure field-based performance meets or exceeds expectations.Business DevelopmentRegular engagement with clients to identify and secure future business opportunities where the company can provide value.Monitor the market for opportunities that support continued business growth and development across existing and new sectors.Help deliver strategic growth plans targeting the medium and long-term interests of the business.Work with business stakeholders to respond to market opportunities as they are presented.About YouPrevious supervisory or team leader experience in a services-based company.Experience leading a team, with a focus on operational excellence, profitability, and developing growth opportunities.Preferable experience and/or understanding of the Electrical or Utilities industry.Relevant tertiary qualification preferable.About UsService Stream is an equal opportunity ASX-listed business that develops and operates Australia's essential services networks across telecommunications, utilities, transport, defence, and social infrastructure industries.
