About The Role As the Assistant Marine Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day marine operations and delivery across Horizontal Falls.
This role works closely with the Marine Operations Manager and supports in the management of vessels, team members and logistics, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with safety and regulatory standards/requirements.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Broome, WA.
Key responsibilities will include:
Assist the Marine Operations Manager in achieving budget and priority targets across the marine department including continuous improvement, cost management and efficienciesManagement and maintenance of the vessel fleet, including efficient planning of scheduled works and use of vessels to not disrupt the tour programEffective use of Helm, maintenance management system, across marine assets, maintaining accurate records including logs etcProvide leadership and guidance to the marine operations team, creating a high performing and motivated team driven to deliver exceptional guest experience and consistent service levelsEffective rostering and management of marine team labour, incorporating fatigue management processes and aligning to the business budget Develop and review SOPs/Policies/Marine Memos and other policy documents relating to marine operations as requiredUndertake a consultative role and provide advice on proposed changes to policy and other change management processesEnsure compliance with AMSA, DBCA and other regulatory bodies is maintained About You You will have a proactive and solutions focused approach with a 'can-do' attitude to achieve the best outcome for business operations.
You will ideally have experience in a similar role managing a flotilla of vessels with exposure to or an understanding of the maritime tourism industry.
It is a requirement of this role that you hold current AMSA recognised qualifications as a Vessel Master and/or Marine Engineer, along with a valid First Aid and firefighting training (or be willing to obtain).
