The role
The Mermaid Waters Hotel, operated by the ALH Hotel Group, is currently finalising a multi-million dollar renovation throughout the property. We're seeking an experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic management team. In this full-time role, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our renovated hotel located in the heart of Mermaid Waters, Queensland.
Key responsibilities Assist the Venue Manager in leading and motivating a high-performing team of hospitality professionals Oversee the smooth running of all hotel operations, including food and beverage, housekeeping, and front-of-house Ensure exceptional customer service and a memorable guest experience Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic business plans Manage budgets, inventory, and other financial responsibilities Identify and address operational issues, implementing effective solutions Assist with staff recruitment, training, and performance management Foster a positive, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment What we're looking for Minimum 12 months experience in a similar assistant manager or supervisory role in the hospitality industry Strong commercial acumen and financial management skills Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service Adept at problem-solving and decision-making Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to driving business growth Relevant qualifications in hospitality management such as an Approved Managers License, RMLV Certification, RSA & RSG accreditation would be highly regarded If you only possess some of our requirements don't be afraid to throw your hat in the ring; enthusiasm and determination go a long way too What we offer
