What you will doEach Assistant Manager will lead a small team in the respective area of work. 

Assistant Manager, Recruitment will:lead the Recruitment team to provide operational recruitment services to the departmentreview and implement best practice recruitment solutions to improve operational effectiveness and inform business decisionsmanage escalations and complex recruitment enquiriesengage and work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders to achieve departmental people priorities, building strong and effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholdersbuild on and work to develop strategic recruitment capability for the departmentAssistant Manager, Case Management will:provide proactive and effective support to managers and employees through the provision of case management services.build relationships with managers and employees to appropriately handle sensitive work matters and resolve conflict with tact and trustprovide guidance and advice on best practice people performance and management processes, injuries, illness, rehabilitation and return to work plansassist and coach people managers to improve their capacity to sensitively handle workplace matters and advocate for commitment to early resolutionprovide accurate policy guidance and ensure this compliance with departmental policies and procedures and relevant Commonwealth legislation across the entire case management cycleAssistant Manager, Work Health Safety and Wellbeing will:develop and deliver WHS policies, strategies, programs and interventions to improve the physical and psychosocial safety and wellbeing of employeesassess, evaluate and develop WHS systems and policies to identify gaps and improvements to meet future needs of the organisationprovide WHS advice to internal stakeholders on the effective management of operational activitiesengage with stakeholders to identify and manage risks and hazards, driving a continuous improvement and safety culture for the departmentprovide subject expertise for investigations where safety-related incidents or breaches have occurredAssistant Manager, Employee Relations will:initiate and manage projects to review employee relations policies, programs, services and service delivery models to improve systems and the end user experienceprovide specialist advice on, and interpretation of, employee relations policy and legislation to assist in the resolution of complex mattersprepare complex and/or sensitive correspondence, briefs and documentationensure that relevant HR policies, guidelines and factsheets are fit for purpose, regularly reviewed, up to date and made available to employeesengage, consult and build relations with staff and the union, through departmental consultation including through our National Consultative CommitteeAssistant Manager, Senior Executive Service Unit willmanage and design SES recruitment processes, and manage SES on-boarding and off-boarding in line with APSC and departmental guidelinesassist in the development and implementation of the SES Development and Performance Framework, including management and delivery of a suite of learning and development activities and programs for the department's SES leadership group EligibilityTo be eligible for employment in the APS and the department, candidates must be Australian Citizens.
Positions require a Baseline security clearance and successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
NotesThis process is being run concurrently with a general recruitment process and an Affirmative Measure - First Nations process to fill various opportunities at the Executive Level 1.
