Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is looking for an Assistant in Nursing to join our Sister Collette Unit. (The Papaya Unit). These casual roles will be based at our Rockhampton City campus. This speciliased 12 bed unit (Separate from the surgical Ward) will be a short stay ward for patients waiting on a spot in a nursing home. Although this is a surgical unit, you will require significant medical skills.
It is a requirement of the position that you are able to work a rotating roster including mornings, afternoons, nights and weekend shifts. Salary range: $31.60 - $34.94 (AIN) per hour plus superannuation and access to NFP salary packaging up to $15,900 What you'll be doing The Assistant in Nursing assists and supports the clinical teams in providing safe and quality patient-centred care under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.
Gathering information about patient care needs through observation and notification to the senior clinical staff of identified changes in the health and functional status of patients promptlyAssist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Assistant in Nursing practice, professional expertiseUndertaking observations and assessmentsFollowing the direction and delegation of the appropriate senior clinical staff memberAssisting with the patient's hygiene, appearance and dietary consumption needs; and maintain a safe, sanitary and secure environment for patients.About you To be considered suitable for the AIN Casual talent community you will be:
A current Bachelor of Nursing student (completed first clinical placement) OR have a Certificate III in Health Services AssistanceFlexibility to perform in various wards, adaptability to seamlessly integrate in to different teams and work under different NUMsConsistent availability to complete shifts at short noticeCommitment to excellence in nursing practice and professional developmentDemonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary teamBasic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systemsPrior comparable experience as an Assistant in Nursing or Personal Care Attendant/Assistant (Desirable)Working towards the attainment of a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Enrolled Nurse qualification and in the second or final year of studies Mater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
