We are currently seeking an engaging and experienced Mathematics Teacher to join our secondary teaching team as Assistant Head of Mathematics from the start of Term 1, 2025.
This position reports to the Head of Mathematics and ultimately the Principal.
The applicant must satisfy the requirements of NESA to teach in NSW schools.
have proven ability to teach Math at a Senior level with HSC level experience.
have extensive knowledge of the syllabus documents and underpinning pedagogical principles.
possess a strong work ethic and organisational skills.
be an outstanding classroom practitioner and demonstrate a diverse range of teaching approaches.
fulfill the pastoral role of Tutor within our house-based pastoral system and meeting the social and emotional well-being needs of students.
have at least 5 years teaching experience in secondary schools.
experience in leadership in schools is an advantage.
The ideal candidate would: possess outstanding experience as a teacher of Stages 4, 5 and 6 Math and encourage students to participate.
demonstrate commitment to implement evidence-based and data-informed teaching practices.
possess a strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
have excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching of Math and the factors that influence learning and development, effective pedagogies, assessment and reporting, a wide range of resources, including interactive technologies, and their use in teaching and learning.
engage in professional learning, collaborate with and contribute to a team and faculty of professional educators.
be willing to contribute to pastoral and co-curricular programs.
Applicants should possess the following: Accredited 4 years of study at a recognised University or Higher Education institution in relevant subject/s with a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), or a combined or double degree such as a Bachelor of Mathematics/Bachelor of Education (Secondary) OR Undergraduate degree (such as a Bachelor of Mathematics) and an accredited graduate entry teaching degree (such as a Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary) or Master of Teaching (Secondary).
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at the level required of all school staff.
