We are looking for a suitably qualified person to fill the role of Assistant Grounds Person to work alongside the Head Grounds Person to ensure the 3 Ballymore playing field surfaces are presented to a professional standard. Maintain the Ballymore parklands, with a commitment to generating value as the sport's governing body and to returning value to the Queensland community.
About you We are looking for someone who is passionate about Rugby and keen to work and look after the spiritual home of Rugby in Queensland, Ballymore. As a seasoned professional, you will have demonstrated experience and outcomes in a similar role. To be successful, you should possess:
Minimum qualification of Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf Management) or (2nd or 3rd year apprentice nearing completion).Ability to supervise people from a diverse background.Possess a current Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control (ACDC) Commercial Operators License.Current First Aid and CPR certificates.Ability to develop trust and rapport with diverse groups including an awareness of student learning needs from a range of socially, culturally, and linguistically diverse backgrounds.Ability to supervise and mentor a diverse crew of trainees to develop their practical skills and abilities and complete a range of community projects.Highly developed communications, interpersonal and supervisory skills with a calm, methodical approach.Demonstrated competency in use and care of tools and equipment relevant to field and grounds maintenance.Demonstrated competency in the care of small plant equipment e.g., ride on cylinder and rotary mowing, forklift, tractors with PTO implements and other field maintenance equipmentLine marking playing fields.Experience with irrigation highly regarded Pest, weed and disease identification and controlAbility to work in a team and at times and lead a small team during busy periodsAbility to adapt to change of plans throughout the day and working weekThe position requires a certain level of physical fitness necessary to undertake duties.Knowledge of onsite Work Health and Safety.Preparedness to be flexible in respect to work hours.A current driver's license and blue card.
