We are seeking to establish a pool of Assistant Gardener – Handypersons for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year.

This includes overseeing the upkeep of turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and various soft landscapes.The role involves maintaining hard landscaping features like courts and paving, marking sports areas, and conducting minor repairs in alignment with departmental policies.
The Gardener – Handyperson is responsible for keeping gardening facilities, equipment, tools, and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition and reporting faults promptly and adheres to safe work practices.This role also undertakes general maintenance including minor repairs and painting, and assists staff with the moving of furniture.Collaborating with the Manager of Corporate Services, the role contributes to the development of safe work procedures and conducts risk assessments as needed.
Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation and the management of hazardous substances are integral aspects of the role, including the maintenance of records in accordance with safety guidelines.The Gardener - Handyperson plays a crucial role in ensuring the College's outdoor spaces are well-maintained and conducive to a positive learning environment.Want to know more?Full details of the role, selection criteria and training requirements are listed in the attached Job Description Form (JDF).
