ABOUT THE ROLE Symbio is an exponential growth company seeking to hire an Assistant Financial Accountant , with the intention to develop this person into a Financial Accountant role within 18-24 months. This position will be based at our Head Office in the Brisbane Technology Park at Eight Mile Plains. This will be an ideal opportunity for an analytical and dynamic individual, who has a focus on continuous improvement, and is looking to be part of a fast-growing multinational organisation.
This person will report to the Chief Financial Controller, and assist in guiding the finance team on all strategic matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting, taxation, corporate policies and procedural needs.
Further responsibilities of the Assistant Financial Accountant may be to:
Manage daily transactions, including AP, AR, bank reconciliation, processing foreign currency payments, etc. Assist in examining operating costs and organizations' income and expenditure, performing data analysis, and providing financial advice on business structures, plans, and operations. Process month/year-end close and prepare GL journals, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc. Maintain the fixed asset register. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and budgets. Provide support in cashflow management and forecasting and planning. Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports, and assess financial risk of capital investment projects. Seek to enhance internal controls and maintain compliance. Assist in Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivables controls. Assist with ad-hoc projects and duties as needed, e.g., implementation of new accounting standards, process improvements, and introducing and maintaining new system implementations. Assist in Payroll Administration. Assist in External audit. Support in top ten cost analysis & reporting. Assist in developing SOP and participating in business procedures improvement. Assist in EOM Accruals & Variance Analysis / EOM Closure. Ad Hoc projects as required. To be successful in this role , you will need the following skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field qualification. High level of attention to detail. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Organisational and time management skills. Good computer skills, including Excel and Business Intelligence Tools. Be solutions-focused. Experience in MYOB EXO would be an advantage but is not mandatory.
