We are seeking an experienced, Assistant Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team, based at our Head Office on the Gold Coast.
This role is on a full-time Monday through Friday basis covering a Maternity Leave contract for up to 12 months.
As the Financial Accountant , you will have a can-do attitude, an aptitude with numbers and advance skills in reporting and analysis.
More about this role: This role contributes to the day-to-day financial management of the business including the month end process.
As a part of a high-performing team, this role requires tasks to be completed on a timely basis and to high level of accuracy.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will be relied upon to provide meaningful analysis and commentary on variances and results to Management.
What are your responsibilities?
Monthly, quarterly, half year and yearly financial reporting.
Consolidation of multi divisional financial data.
Prepare monthly financial summary reports for Finance Manager.
Provide monthly variance analysis and commentary relating to overhead costs.
Assist with statutory and management financial reporting.
Assist on all group audit engagements.
Assistance in the external audit process.
Daily and ad hoc reporting.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations on a timely basis.
Preparation of BAS & Payroll Tax returns, assistance with FBT return.
Check and post weekly payroll journals.
Perform general ledger maintenance as required.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
Demonstrated success in a similar role.
Tertiary degree in Finance or Accountancy CPA/CA qualifications preferred but not required Experience in the application of accounting standards and principles.
Exceptional Communication skills.
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to multitask and work with minimum supervision.
Strong problem-solving skills and ERP systems experience.
Demonstrates strong organisational / time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders in a high volume, high value environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an analytical and methodical approach.
Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
As you will be working in the Aviation Services industry, you will be required to obtain a clear National Police Check.
