What lifestyle will you find on the farm? The Boolavilla aggregation covers an area of 8,544 arable ha and has the favorable combination of high rainfall reliability and quality soils. Boolavilla is situated in the Gwydir region of New South Wales, approximately 7km east of Croppa Creek in an area known as the Golden Triangle. Goondiwindi is 78km north of Boolavilla, while Moree is 66km south of the property.
There is a family house available on farm and you'll be part of a collaborative and passionate team. As an Assistant Farm Manager you will work extremely closely with the Farm Manager who is proud of his profession and enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. Croppa Creek has a public school, a local bowls club, a 9 hole golf course and tennis courts.
Job Description What does an Assistant Farm Manager at Warakirri Cropping do? The Assistant Farm Manager has full insight into what is happening on the farm and you get to be involved in decision-making processes. You will be working with the Farm Manager on the day-to-day management of the farm and its performance. This includes a strong contribution towards operational management, employee and contractor management and leadership, and Workplace Health and Safety. Working closely with the farm manager, our independent agronomy team and the in-house precision ag team, you will have the chance to monitor and manage crops to reach their full potential. You will work on the development of the farm, its people as well as the group culture in line with the company's values. You will also be operating machinery, which includes spraying, planting, spreading and harvest. Qualifications Do you recognize yourself in the following statements? You bring broadacre cropping experience. You have a sound knowledge of growing dryland winter crops. You have experience in the operation of large-scale cropping plant and equipment. A willingness to learn, adopt new practices and further develop personal skills, whilst working in a team environment is what others pride you on. Your skill to mentor and coach others is one of your strengths and you have demonstrated this previously. You have a high level of initiative and self-motivation. You have excellent communication skills and can work closely with consulting agronomists and contractors. Relevant qualifications will be looked upon favorably but are absolutely not a must.
