Assistant Directors (Multiple), Service Delivery Group Full time Service Delivery Group is led by a First Assistant Commissioner who also holds the role of National Election Manager. We collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to prepare for elections in which Australian citizens vote.  The Group is proud of its commitment to continuous improvement and uplifting long-term capability across three branches. Areas with vacancies now or in the future include: The Strategic Priorities Branch - enables core business areas in service delivery. This includes improving our ability to attract suitable surge and temporary election workforce, improving and expanding a nationally consistent service offering for electors in remote area and very remote areas, and property planning, facilities management, and capital works. The Service Design and Foundations Branch has a focus on contemporary, client-centric service design and continuous improvement. This includes an emphasis on the foundational capabilities for the design and delivery of electoral events including service design, policies and procedures, event planning, quality assurance, public engagement, silent elector management, national electoral roll operations, and industrial election and ballot service delivery.  The Delivery and Support Branch leads the preparation and delivery of electoral services for the AEC. The Branch is responsible for planning future electoral events, developing and delivering key electoral capabilities and services, and managing the delivery of electoral events in line with election timetables. The Branch also manages contracts and agreements with third party suppliers which are critical for the successful delivery of electoral events. The Opportunities The Service Delivery Group are seeking talented and responsive leaders to fill a variety of current and future roles. Ideas are welcomed and discussed in respectful and productive manner.  The Strategic Priorities Branch have multiple vacant positions are looking for leaders with skills in governance, reporting, assurance and relationship management, communications and engagement, project management and policy development, and/or safety, risk, and data management. We are also looking for leaders with experience in leasing, facilities and capital works within the Commonwealth property management environment, and development and implementation of workforce attraction and sourcing strategies and plans. The Service Design and Foundations Branch are expecting to fill multiple positions in the future. The future roles will suit professionals who are highly dynamic and client-centric focused to achieve the branch's vision of designing electoral services that continue to sustain trust in democracy. You will have an inquiring mind, be able to build an inclusive culture that enables people to make their best contribution, promote collaborative work practices, and actively manage and embrace risk.  Candidates who have been placed on an order of merit list from the recent Service Design and Foundations Branch recruitment exercise (Job Reference 2024-112) may be contacted directly by the AEC to discuss and potential positions. The Delivery and Support Branch are expecting to fill multiple positions in the future. The roles will suit professionals with experience in project delivery to manage, coordinate and deliver national projects relating to the successful conduct of electoral events. You will have cross-functional planning and implementation experience and be able to successfully align state objectives with agency goals. Future opportunities within the branch are agile positions and during the election cycle will be required to contribute to the delivery of different projects across the branch as agency priorities necessitate. These roles will require collaboration with other functions including system management, procurement, external suppliers, process.  To excel you'll have: Demonstrated sound judgement and decision-making skills, across a range of deliverables. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to deliver results within time, legislative and budget restraints with competing priorities The ability to develop and interpret policy and procedures, including those that require detailed understanding and consideration of sensitive issues. Strong relationship and collaborative skills, including with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated resilience and the ability to contribute to a positive workplace culture. Tertiary qualifications in project management, communications, data or related business fields. Experience in leading a geographically dispersed team. Experience in managing contracts and undertaking procurement exercises. Ability to analyse and interpret complex data to inform decision making. AEC employees must be Australian citizens.
