EL1 Assistant Director, People Strategies (multiple positions)
EL1 Assistant Director, Governance, Risk & Compliance

The Corporate and Engagement Group provides end to end service delivery on a number of enabling functions including human resources, security, fraud, risk and integrity, finance and procurement, communications, as well as provide expert advice on data improvement and research strategy.

SWA are seeking experienced candidates to join the People Strategies section and the Governance, Risk & Compliance section. These roles report to the EL2 Directors.

The key duties of the position include: As an Assistant Director, People Strategies you will be required to:

actively contribute to the overall strategic planning for the People Strategies section and translate strategy into the operational management of areas of responsibility. provide insightful, impactful and value-add advice on human resource (HR) related topics to a broad range of stakeholders, engaging and influencing stakeholders as appropriate. ensure compliance and accountability with relevant Commonwealth legislation, regulations, and APS and Agency employment practices. lead a small team in the setting and delivery of priorities as well as guiding and mentoring the team and uplifting team capability. demonstrate excellent judgement including the ability to manage sensitive matters and/or cases with discretion, as well as the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment. uphold SWA Values to the highest standards and promote a workplace culture that engenders trust, respect and inclusion, where all individuals share a personal responsibility for promoting the health, safety and well-being of others. plan, manage and deliver projects on various HR topics to support the Agency's strategic direction and build people management capability. As an Assistant Director, Governance, Risk & Compliance, you will be required to:

actively contribute to the overall strategic planning for the Governance, Risk & Compliance section and translate strategy into the operational management of areas of responsibility. provide insightful, impactful and value-add analysis and advice on the organisations work program to senior executives, audit committees and other stakeholders through meeting papers, briefings and submissions on a broad range of issues. develop and maintain policies and procedures related to risk and audit and build understanding of these requirements across the business. proactively build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders through robust advice and applying specialist knowledge to uplift stakeholder understanding. plan and manage projects to build the Agency's maturity on various corporate topics including reviewing and updating the Agency's enterprise risk profile, developing communication materials and training materials for Agency staff, and implementing the Agency's corporate strategy. uphold SWA Values to the highest standards and promote a workplace culture that engenders trust, respect and inclusion, where all individuals share a personal responsibility for promoting the health, safety and well-being of others. lead a small team in the setting and delivery of priorities as well as guiding and mentoring the team and uplifting team capability. Eligibility To be eligible for employment with SWA, you must be an Australian citizen, and you will be required to successfully undergo a police record check.

The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Baseline level security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level. More information on the security clearance vetting process is available on the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) website.

Notes The Agency does not have offices in Capital Cities other than Canberra. In instances where remote work is approved the employee will need to work from their home address with reliable internet access and appropriate ergonomic workstation set-ups.
