Assistant Director (Various) - COMCAR and Programs BranchCanberra ACTABOUT THE BRANCHThe COMCAR and Programs Branch is responsible for delivering high quality, secure and confidential car-with-driver, and other ground transport services to high profile clients, such as the Governor-General and Prime Minister (both current and former), parliamentarians, members of the Federal Judiciary and other high office holders. Additionally, the Branch provides secretariat support to the Australian Political Exchange Council and administers two grant programs.COMCAR provides ground transport and associated support services to visiting Guests of Government such as Royalty, Heads of State, Heads of Government, and other foreign dignitaries. COMCAR frequently delivers services during major international events, such as the ASEAN Special Summit, Group of Twenty meetings (G20), the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and other Ministerial forums hosted in Australia. COMCAR has a national presence, with drivers located in each state and territory.The Branch also supports the activities of the Australian Political Exchange Council (AusPol) through the provision of secretariat services to the Council. The Council supports the development of young Australian political leaders by providing opportunities to gain insights into the political systems and cultures of countries with which the Council has established exchange agreements. It also offers delegates from participating countries a chance to learn about Australia and its political system and build enduring networks between young political leaders. Time off in Lieu (TOIL) is payable for additional duties outside of regular hours of work, in line with the department's Enterprise Agreement.Assistant Director - Client Engagement and ProgramsThe Client Engagement and Programs team is a small multi-functional team which serves as the primary point of contact between COMCAR and its clients and is responsible for managing and administering two grant programs. The Department of Finance is looking for a client-focused individual with exceptional communication skills and strong experience in stakeholder engagement to lead this team.Assistant Director - Fleet and ProjectsThe Fleet and Projects team is a small multi-functional team which is responsible for COMCAR's national fleet footprint and managing critical projects to enable COMCAR to deliver services to its clients. The Team is also responsible for managing and reviewing COMCAR's fleet needs in conjunction with reporting on environmental impacts through the government's net zero initiative.
