Assistant Director Threatened Species and Ecological Communities GovernanceCanberra ACT
The Threatened Species and Communities Governance Section is responsible for:
guiding the strategic direction of the branch and uplifting governance and planning frameworksdesigning solutions to branch wide strategic and governance issues and facilitating collaboration within the branch and with key stakeholderssupporting the Commonwealth Threatened Species Scientific Committee.The key duties of the position include:supporting / leading the development and implementation of strategic and business planning, programs, projects and governance processesdevising assurance and evaluation to support these functions in line with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act and Rule and relevant Commonwealth frameworksdeveloping solutions for streamlining effective planning, reporting and communication, including utilising data analytics and visualisationworking with other sections to capture strategic planning and reporting information in line with contemporary best practicesanalysing information to assist the branch governance board in setting strategic priorities across policies, programs and regulation against the department's legislative and government prioritiesassisting the Director supporting the branch governance boardmanaging staff, where required.For detailed information about the job-specific capabilities for this role, please view the Job Description which can be downloaded from our website - the Apply Now link will take you there.Citizenship - to be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.Security Clearance - this position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.Pre-employment Check - your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement to undergo and satisfy a National Police Check, referee checks, character clearance and where required a pre-employment medical assessment, specified mandatory qualification(s) validation and a probation period of 6 months.NotesWe currently have one vacancy available for immediate filling in Canberra.
