This is an exciting opportunity to lead an innovative security program that delivers significant security culture and maturity uplift across the department, with a focus on building resilience through intelligence led security risk management. The role will include:Leading the department's counter espionage and foreign interference (EFI) program to raise awareness, manage risks and build resilience to EFI risks to our people, information and assets.Establishing a dedicated overseas travel program, aligned to the counter EFI program.Contributing to broader security capability programs that deliver security training, communication and engagement programs to uplift security maturity, resilience and culture.Contributing to broader protective security program governance, risk management and reporting.What we are looking forKnowledge and experience:Demonstrated knowledge and experience leading protective security, risk management, security training, engagement or coordination will be highly regarded.Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) will be highly regarded.Skills and capabilities:Ability to lead the implementation of creative and innovative security capability programs.Ability to lead engagement with stakeholders across the department and government.Ability to communicate effectively to translate security intelligence reporting.Ability to lead a small team to deliver security programs.Ability to think critically and apply sound judgement.Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and engagement skills.Ability to drive a positive workplace culture and lead staff to deliver program outcomes.Eligibility and other requirementsCitizenship: To be eligible for employment, you must be an Australian citizen.Security Clearance: This position requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.Pre-employment Check: Your suitability for employment will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process.For additional information, please read the Job Description below.
