Assistant Director, Program Compliance and Fraud BranchEmployment Type: Ongoing & Non-ongoing (for an initial period of up to 12 months)
Classification: Executive Level 1 ($121,717 - $138,722)
This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the NIAA delegate.
Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years.
A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment; however, this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

The Opportunity: The Program Compliance and Fraud Branch is responsible for delivering program compliance, fraud control, and investigation activities for the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
The Branch comprises 3 sections and is responsible for the receipt, assessment, and investigation of allegations of fraud and serious non-compliance.
The Compliance Section is responsible for undertaking compliance reviews of providers contracted to deliver services on the NIAA's behalf; providing advice to NIAA agreement managers in dealing with matters of serious non-compliance; and providing advice to internal stakeholders, including the Senior Executive, regarding the amendment and modification of compliance and risk management policies and procedures with the aim of ensuring that service providers expend NIAA funding in accordance with the terms and conditions of funding agreements.
As an EL 1 Assistant Director, Compliance, you will undertake a variety of work including but not limited to: Overseeing Serious Non-Compliance Reviews of NIAA funded providers.Providing advice on intensive support compliance matters to colleagues in the regions across Australia.Triage assessment of matters that have been referred to the section.Provision of financial expertise for Serious Non-Compliance Reviews: interpretation, analysis, and summary of financial transactions and arrangements which may be used to support future criminal (and civil) proceedings.We are looking for applicants with a diverse range of skills and experience in one or more of the following: Our Ideal Candidate: The successful candidate will demonstrate:
